Route description

The starting point is situated in the parking of "Arcu e Tidu" (445), near the Forester Barracks at the entrance of the 7 Brothers Natural Park. It's easy to reach; driving along the S.S. 125, coming from Cagliari, you must turn right and cover a few metres. After a few metres over the asphaltated road, we turn left for an off road way which drive as to a little bridge over the Maidopis stream. After the bridge we turn left where a bar introduce us to an off road way where begin an hard climb that we run with an easy gear. At the first cross (to the old convent) we go on to the left since the next cross (to the "Nuraghe su Gattu") where we turn right. After 6 Km. the ascent is going to end and we arrive on the lowland which lies among the suggestive and wild granite rocks of the 7 brothers mountain. We go on at the following cross to reach the Forester barracks of Baccu Malu (885) where, turning right, a dog (Charlie) and a fawn welcome us. A few metres far from the Barracks, on the right side, there is a view point where we can admire the green woods and the sea coast of Castiadas. (photo 1)

photo 1 Just the time for a break and we begin the come back turning on the left at the main cross where we begin the descent along the stream called Sa Ceraxa. It is a very fun downhill with tecnical tracts and ways where the mtb runs on a silent leafes carpet. It is in this moments that we feel the naturalistic beauties through the woods smell, the suggestive viewes and the beautiful streams which get our soul very good. After a water cross we reach Arcu Buddui area where we go on left at the first "Y" cross, and right at the second cross. The following 3 Km. are one of the best in the area. In fact we run on a very nice single tack, with many water crosses and into the green forest. Near the old bilding called "Dispensa Vecchia" (400) we get to an "Y" cross where we turn right, but it's the same on the left. So we arrive at the Dispensa Vecchia, and we turn right, we cross the stearm and we begin the ascent named "Sa Corti". It is a climb that begin with an hard slope, but it become more easy since the top in the area called "Codoleddu" (700). photo 2 We go on right to the Monte Cresia area on an asphaltated road that drive us to a cross with two off roads on the right. We run on the second which cross a stream and leads us to Arcu sa Spina, but we turn left before the biginning of the climb along an off road that turn on the right to a medium slope climb which drive us to a clearing. On the left we found a small path called "sentiero n° 5". It is a funny single track which runs under the wood and arrive near the forester barracks of Maidopis where we turn left for the final descent that ends on the bridge over the Maidopis stream. Turning on the left we climb since the asphalted road near the car parcking.
